Verda Ligon

 (Am. 1902-1970)

Ligon was born in Dallas where she was a student of Thomas M. Stell and attended Southern Methodist University. She studied as well at the Detroit Institute of Arts and the Phoenix Art Institute, New York. She taught for forty years in Dallas schools. Ligon died in Dallas.
